Letter of Interest

"Around here ... we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious ... and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." ~WALT DISNEY

To Whom It May Concern:

I’m writing to express my interest in an elementary teaching, or academic coach position in your school. I have 19 years classroom experience, ranging from Kindergarten to grade six, in all content areas.  I value individuality and strive to meet the needs of each student.  I use a variety of hands-on activities, differentiation, and research-based strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles. I also recognize the importance of trust and respect in a teacher–student relationship, and have successfully established relationships with students, parents, and colleagues that resulted in a safe, comfortable, challenging and successful learning environment.

In addition, I was named a model classroom of Literacy, a Writing Workshop model classroom, a problem-solving pilot classroom, and a technology lead teacher. I have also had the opportunity to be a grade level chairperson/leadership representative in each district where I was employed. I am an active part of the educational process, and believe a successful teacher needs to be involved with the students, staff, parents, district, and community. I have planned and organized food drives, Math and Science nights, fundraisers, talent shows, open houses, family game nights, and Kindergarten graduations.  I have been a wellness coach for my school, as well as an after-school activities teacher and coordinator. I love to be involved!

I feel that with my knowledge, experience, and personality I could contribute to the successes of the students as well as the school and community. I have references and will gladly supply any additional information you may need.  Thank you for your time and I look forward to discussing any available position with you.

Sincerely,

Adrienne Thomas
